Member News and Updates: Golf Operation Change Effective 9-7-20

We appreciate your continued support of the Founders Collection Courses during what has been a challenging six months. As we have throughout the process, we want to  keep you updated on our operational plans going forward.

While good news has been in short supply in 2020, the decline in COVID case numbers in Horry County has allowed us to resume a few “normal” practices. As you may have noticed, our cart attendants recently began offering bag service for golfers who wish to take advantage of it.

As we adjust to our “new normal” the safety of golfers and our staff remains FGI’s top priority. We continue to follow our enhanced safely protocols, in addition to all state and local ordinances. “Park and Play” has proven to be a great option for those who prefer not to enter the golf shop, and our Food and Beverage operations are closely following all DHEC guidelines for your safety.

The next step will begin on September 7th when we will ask you to ride with your playing partner for morning tee times at most of our courses. We know many of you are already doing this, but for those who are not comfortable riding together, we will offer you options.

At TPC Myrtle Beach and Grande Dunes you will be expected to ride together, but FGI’s 19 other courses will offer the following choices if you prefer to ride alone:

  • You may play in the afternoon at most FGI courses and we will be able to accommodate your request for a single cart. (This is not valid at Grande Dunes and TPC.)
  • Morning: On days there are extra carts available due to low volume of play, we will allow golfers to ride alone in the morning. (Please note that this will be based entirely on availability and a first come, first serve basis.)
  • Wild Wing, Aberdeen, and Founders Golf Club you may ride individually all day. All three will offer that option at least through September 30th
  • Walking is always available at FGI properties at $5.00 off the applicable rate.
  • We will have masks available in the golf shop for golfers who would like to wear them in the golf cart.

Again, these adjustments will begin on September 7th. At that time, we ask that you plan your tee times accordingly.

We will continue to update you as we slowly progress toward more “normal” operations. Thank you again for your support.

Stay well!
